Hair Transplant & Restoration

Why do I need hair restoration and transplant procedures?

Hair restoration and transplant procedures aren’t medically necessary, but they can restore your self-confidence by replenishing your full head of hair. You might be losing your hair for a number of reasons, including:

  • Heredity (male- or female-pattern baldness)
  • Hormone fluctuations
  • Certain medications
  • Radiation therapy
  • Extreme emotional stress
  • Repeated tight hairstyles
  • Aggressive hair treatments

If your hair loss isn’t permanent, you might not need treatment at all. But if it doesn’t grow back with time, hair restoration treatments may be necessary.

What are my options for hair transplant and restoration?

At La Jolla Med Spa and Hair Transplant, Dr. Nasseri uses several techniques to help you regrow your natural hair. He helps you decide which technique is the most fitting for you by evaluating the extent of your hair loss and the reason behind it.

Follicular unit extraction (FUE)

If you and Dr. Nasseri decide to use the FUE technique, he shaves your scalp and meticulously removes one healthy hair follicle at a time. He then places the healthy hair follicles into tiny incisions across your balding or thinning area. This can be performed as an outpatient same-day procedure under local anesthesia.

Follicular unit transplantation (FUT)

The FUT technique is similar to FUE, but it’s faster and a bit more invasive. Dr. Nasseri removes strips of skin from the back of your scalp that still grows healthy hair. He places them under a microscope to extract only the healthiest follicles for transplantation.

You don’t have to shave your head, but the procedure usually leaves a scar that will be hidden under your natural hair. He places the healthy follicles into tiny incisions in your balding spot. This procedure is also performed as an outpatient same-day procedure under local anesthesia.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections

This technique doesn’t involve the transfer of any of your follicles. Instead, Dr. Nasseri draws your blood and separates it into distinct layers. One of these layers contains platelets that release growth factors to promote follicle cell rebuilding when Dr. Nasseri injects it into your scalp. You can also get PRP injections to encourage hair growth from transplanted follicles.

Do hair transplant and restoration work for everyone?

Hair restoration and transplant techniques have high success rates. Additionally, you must have adequate healthy hair behind still on your head and above your years in order to get FUE or FUT.

This success rate is influenced by several factors including the techniques in harvesting donor grafts, processing of the grafts and transplanting into recipient sites. This is the reason that transplant techniques in the precise hands of a Surgeon like Dr. Nasseri have better results. Other factors influencing the long term outcome of hair transplants have to do with the diligence in the care of your hair, lifestyles, and genetics.

CRLab

The CRL system, is a natural hair thickening system, it consists of producing a “second scalp”, a clone membrane personalized by each client’s needs and characteristics.
Once the model has been produced, which highlights the morphology and the contours of the area that will be thickened on the client, an ‘epithesis” or clone membrane is produced. The base of the clone membrane is constituted by a special polymer resin that has been dermatologically tested and designed to provide comfort and stability. Natural human hair is selected from donors with high-grade hair and with similar hair characteristics to those of the client. The hair is sewn by hand, one by one, with precise distribution, inclination and direction of the client’s natural hair.
Once completed, the clone membrane is integrated onto the scalp using a special medical adhesive, dermatologically tested at the Cosmetology Centre at the University of Ferrara.

PROCESS:

  1. PARAMETERS
  2. CNC PRODUCTION

PHASE 1: SCALP MAPPING
Computer mapping of the scalp and alopecic area.

PHASE 2: CAST PRODUCTION
Cast created using specialist computer imaging, cloning the contours of the skull and scalp.

PHASE 3: CLONING AND PANTONE MATCHING
Clone membrane created by robotic technology, replicating exact shape, lines and pantones of client’s scalp.

PHASE 4: HAIR SELECTION AND MATCHING
Meticulous selection of high-grade human hair to replicate color and texture.

PHASE 5: IMPLANTING
Hairs implanted individually into membrane, mirroring original direction of growth.

PHASE 6: NON-SURGICAL GRAFTING
The membrane is non-surgically grafted onto the scalp before professionals complete a final styling.
PHASE 7: CRL SYSTEM FULLY INTEGRATED
Hair can now be exposed to all activities including swimming and high impact sports.
